Diving In Gran Canaria

Gran Canaria is an amazing place to pleasure dive and also the perfect environment to learn and further your dive education.

You can enjoy year round diving in clear and warm water. In 2005 Gran Canaria was declared a world Biosphere reserve by the UN. The marine life in waters around the island is diverse and you are always surprised on each and every dive what you may find.

The wildlife here can range from the smallest nudibranch all the way up to pilot whales and everything in between.

Dive sites in Gran Canaria

Gran Canaria has an amazing selection of sites that cater for all levels and experience of divers and we will gladly explain the best options suitable for your diving ability to ensure you have a great time. We have great sites for training as well as those for the best possible diving experiences whilst keeping it easy and fun and most of all safe.

El Cabrón

This site is one of the best on the island it is in Arinaga Marine Reserve. It is a shore dive with easy entry and exit points lots of marine life and some stunning swim throughs and small caves to explore. Its good for new divers and more experienced divers. The average depth is about 19 metres and maximum depth can push to about 29-30 meters. It has a great variety of wildlife for you to enjoy and view. There can some current at times but nothing to cause concern. This can be also be good for a snorkelling location.

Risco Verde


Risco Verde is a site found at north end of Arinaga Beach. This is an easy and peaceful dive site that is accessed from shore with and easy entry and exit point. It has a rich and varied variety of wildlife for you to enjoy in total peace. The average depth is about 10 metres and maximum depth pushing to about 17 metres. This site can also be good for snorkelling.

Playa de Tufia - Brothers Diving

Tufia

Tufia is a beautiful dive site It is a dive spot with amazing wildlife. Look on the sandy bottom and between the rocks to spot angel sharks, rays, octopus and cuttlefish. The maximum depth is about 22 metres but can push a few more metres depending on routes. Because of its well-lit parking it is also suitable for a night diving. It is an easy dive that is suitable for everyone. It is a shore dive, but it is a steep climb to and from the parking lot. This is also a good site for snorkelling.

Sardina Del Norte

This is a large, sheltered bay and suited for beginners and experienced divers alike. Getting in and out of the water is extremely easy a shore dive. This can be great for night dives as well because of its ease. The maximum depth for this is 20 metres and there are some currents sometimes at site.

Taliarte


This site is a shore dive simple and easy entry and exit. It is a shallow dive site and as such is perfect for Try dives and for other basic training when depth is not a requirement. Even though a shallow site with maximum depth of 8 metres it still as the same amazing variety of wildlife to see as with all the dive sites on island.

Brothers Diving - Pasito Blanco - Gran Canaria

Pasito Blanco Reef

Situated 5 minutes away deom teìhe Pasito Blanco harbour, in the south of gran Canaria, the reef is similar to a rectangular platfom roughtly 60 mt long and about 16 mt large. this rocky reef is sourrounded by sand, where we can often find angelshaks and rays.

Brothers Diving - Artificial Reef - Gran Canaria

Artificial Reef

Layed on a sandy bottom, at about 23 mt we can find around 10 cement blocks, that create a beautiful artificial reef or biotopo. you will find 4 different shapes which grouped together stimulate the proliferation of different marine species. the creation of this artificial reef was completed in 1991 by the Canary Islands Governament, under the supervision of the University of Las Palmas de gran Canaria.

Brothers Diving - Meteor II - Gran Canaria

Meteor II

Situated roughly 20 minutes away from Pasito Blanco harbour, in area known as “El Pajar”, we find Meteor II wreck, a russian boat dedicated to tourist transport. Just being an Open Water diver, this little boat, sunk in 2023, 30 mt long and 8 mt large, is an interesting wreck, offering very nice diving opportunities.

Mogan Wrecks

Cermona II and Alagranza wrecks are 5 minutes from Mogan by boat. They sit at a depth of 20 metres, 50 metres apart one to the other so can be combined in a single dive. Althought sometimes they are hit by currents they are suitable for Open Water divers. Both wrecks were sunk for turistic purpose, and they attract lot of wildlife make them intresting sites for divers.

Wreck of Arona

This is about 20 minutes south of Las Palmas and is a boat dive. In good conditions, it’s an amazing wreck and very big so lots to explore and it attracts so much variety of wildlife swimming and also some great growth on the wreck itself. It sits at a maximum depth of 36 metres and can bit hit by strong currents as such your need to be Advanced diver or above to carry out this dive.

La Catedral

One of the most stunning diving sites with amazing rock formations and variety of wildlife it is twenty minutes north from Las Palmas, it is a rocky feature that drops to a depth of 40 metres but starts at 6 metres. It is a boat dive, and you will need to be an advanced diver at least to complete this dive due to its depth and because of the current the site sometimes has.
